A favorite hobby used to be nighttime AM radio listening for distant stations — over time it’s evolving into “surfing” for distant online radio stations. 🙂
I enjoy all aspects of radio, and I enjoy studying and learning languages of all types.
Going to Flea Markets and swap meets. I collect vintage electronics, especially old transistor radios. It’s a good way to get some walking around exercise and fresh air!

I must admit, I have a passion for wild birds – specifically, the American Goldfinch. I have a small backyard in the city of Chicago and recently put up an “upside-down” feeder, which deters other types of birds from feeding there. The American Goldfinch has the ability to feed upside down, while others really have a difficult time of it. It’s great fun to watch.
Swimming is for me.

I live in Hawaii and enjoy surfing in paradise. Surfing brings me close to nature and helps reduce stress and it’s also great exercise. I always carry a radio and smartphone to get the latest surf forecast so I can hit the beach at the best time.
Birding and Photography are my hobbies
As a long time C. Crane customer, now age 83 years, as a youth I spent substantial time in the evening listening to AM skip signals, FM, Weather and airplane chatter and finally to Short Wave programs. I acquired my first small SW radio when I was sixteen and tracked the BBC, Radio Moscow and Deutsche Welle and Radio Bern broadcasts to compare their varied interpretations or slants on American news items and, even then, was quite surprised at the differences in political views these stations provided for all to hear. I now use C.Crane equipment exclusively and have never given up this hobby.
FISHING OF COURSE
I only recently found your archives and blogs on the internet and am delighted to be able to access them. Many thanks for such helpful information.
There is nothing I would rather be doing than sitting in a small boat on a farm pond, fishing.

Like many people, probably, I have a difficult time selecting one leisure activity (hobby) that’s my favorite. However, like most C.Crane customers and fans, I can heartily proclaim that A favorite pastime of mine – which I love to do everyday – is listen to a radio! I LOVE the “theater of the mind” experience, no matter what I’m listening to – local news, traffic reports (GRRRR!), sports events, talkradio, etc. I would even consider listening to audiobooks via my car stereo (or tablet or MP3 device) as one of my very best activities, particularly on long daily commutes home from work.
Thanks for chance to ‘blog’ today!

I am an avid knitter and I am just learning to spin.
I am an avid knitter. I learned to crochet from my Mom, but she actually encouraged me to take a class in knitting at a program called “Summer Recreation” run by our local schools, and then I showed her what I learned in the evening, so we both learned the skill together. (If anyone reading this is involved in such a program now, never doubt your work is appreciated. I’m 60 now, and cherish having learned this craft.) My favorite thing to knit is lace shawls and Aran sweaters. I also like to try my hand at design.
