A favorite hobby used to be nighttime AM radio listening for distant stations — over time it’s evolving into “surfing” for distant online radio stations. 🙂
I enjoy all aspects of radio, and I enjoy studying and learning languages of all types.
Going to Flea Markets and swap meets. I collect vintage electronics, especially old transistor radios. It’s a good way to get some walking around exercise and fresh air!
Hiking in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park – a beautiful park just south of Cleveland with trails for all skill levels and plenty of wildlife, including an ever-growing family of bald eagles.
Any time I can spend with my family is treasured. I live for time-off spent in our vacation cabin.
My favorite hobby is ham radio and restoring old radios, followed by hiking and traveling. Life is more exciting here in Montana.
I must admit, I have a passion for wild birds – specifically, the American Goldfinch. I have a small backyard in the city of Chicago and recently put up an “upside-down” feeder, which deters other types of birds from feeding there. The American Goldfinch has the ability to feed upside down, while others really have a difficult time of it. It’s great fun to watch.
Swimming is for me.
My favorite hobby is listen AM Spanish Radio Station ESPN New York Soccer games specialy now going to Brazil World Cup 2014.
I am 97 years and play the game of bridge twice a week keeps your brain active ,additionally i do volunteer
work in the office of our local elected political representative the work assignments provide a wonderful hobby
Basketball — love hoops!
Fly fishing(warm-water). I retired 3 years ago and took up fly fishing just because it looked interesting. Little did I know that the rhythm of casting is so relaxing and it itself is a calming, true,’pastime’.
My favorite leisure activity is reading. I have a kindle and have read over 200 books on it so far.
Astronomy is my favorite hobby. I like observing the night sky through telescopes and binoculars.
I live in Hawaii and enjoy surfing in paradise. Surfing brings me close to nature and helps reduce stress and it’s also great exercise. I always carry a radio and smartphone to get the latest surf forecast so I can hit the beach at the best time.
Birding and Photography are my hobbies
As a long time C. Crane customer, now age 83 years, as a youth I spent substantial time in the evening listening to AM skip signals, FM, Weather and airplane chatter and finally to Short Wave programs. I acquired my first small SW radio when I was sixteen and tracked the BBC, Radio Moscow and Deutsche Welle and Radio Bern broadcasts to compare their varied interpretations or slants on American news items and, even then, was quite surprised at the differences in political views these stations provided for all to hear. I now use C.Crane equipment exclusively and have never given up this hobby.
FISHING OF COURSE
I only recently found your archives and blogs on the internet and am delighted to be able to access them. Many thanks for such helpful information.
There is nothing I would rather be doing than sitting in a small boat on a farm pond, fishing.
kickin’ around in the Sierra, smelling the smells and listening to the birdies sing.
I like wiring together old transistors and resistors to make rudimentary logic units to use for demonstrations in children’s lab experiments.
I love playing guitar, writing songs, and riding my tandum bicycle
i have two currently. i have been interested in ham radio for the last 35 years. but the last ten or so we have adopted approx two dozen abused and neglected wolves and wolf hybrids. so most of my enjoyment nowadays is taking care of and playing with them.
Right now, I would say geocaching is my favourite hobby.
Riding my Raleigh 21 speed on the bike paths of the Cleveland Metroparks.
My favorite leisure time activity is listening to/watching sporting event (baseball, basketball, soccer, football) on radio or TV.
I enjoy small engine repair.
Fly fishing, tying flies, building fly rods.
Bicycling with my family.
Reading CCradio’s blog is my favorite leisure activity.
Biking around the neighborhood on a mild summer’s morning.
Favorite leisure activity is doing pottery while listening to SW and AM radio.
Without a doubt reading is my favorite hobby, although hiking and camping are up there too.
Like many people, probably, I have a difficult time selecting one leisure activity (hobby) that’s my favorite. However, like most C.Crane customers and fans, I can heartily proclaim that A favorite pastime of mine – which I love to do everyday – is listen to a radio! I LOVE the “theater of the mind” experience, no matter what I’m listening to – local news, traffic reports (GRRRR!), sports events, talkradio, etc. I would even consider listening to audiobooks via my car stereo (or tablet or MP3 device) as one of my very best activities, particularly on long daily commutes home from work.
Thanks for chance to ‘blog’ today!
I enjoy getting out in the garden, weeding and observing the new growth. Oh, and watching the huge earthworms play in the dirt like they are fish swimming in the ocean.
My favorite hobby is model railroading.
I am a little white haired old lady. Having read this far can you guess my favorite hobby? BINGO !!!
Listening to music.
I enjoy wood working and golf. Fortunately, I am good at wood working.

Our favorite leisure activity is gardening. We have a half acre vegetable garden and a small herb/flower garden. I am also an avid reader with historical fiction being my favorite genre. While reading I always listen to the radio.
I have always enjoyed the radio while walking and biking.
I am an avid knitter and I am just learning to spin.
I am an avid knitter. I learned to crochet from my Mom, but she actually encouraged me to take a class in knitting at a program called “Summer Recreation” run by our local schools, and then I showed her what I learned in the evening, so we both learned the skill together. (If anyone reading this is involved in such a program now, never doubt your work is appreciated. I’m 60 now, and cherish having learned this craft.) My favorite thing to knit is lace shawls and Aran sweaters. I also like to try my hand at design.
