Our home has a CCrane observer radio which we charge the internal battery every month to be ready if needed. We have 3 gal. of water per day for 3 days and a gal. of unscented bleach. Lots of lithium AA batteries, MRE’s for 17 days. Pet food container ready, and 2 envelopes-waterproof for our important papers. I have extra medicine and multi vitiams. I have blankets and set of extra clothes. I have placed most in 2 back packs. I can text with my CCrane Observer if needed. I am no spring chicken so it will be difficult to flee my home unless I am forced too. A Shortwave radio is all I lack that would allow to hear what is occurring if the power went out for quiet a distance. I have experienced the negative effects of both hurricane season and North Eastern winters with out power for long periods of time. Hope this year is better. I have a charcoal grill and 50 gal bucket of coal and 2 propane tanks for the grill. I have to get a better heat source though.
