We didn’t have any hard and fast traditions in my family, but of course Christmas is a magical time for kids and that was always the case in our family. I suppose that my memories of home and Christmas are faded due to my advanced age, but I remember that the tree was always one that we went out and selected and cut ourselves, (in Montana, that was OK), and then it would be put up and decorated on Christmas Eve. Then when we got up on Christmas morning we celebrated with a freshly decorated tree and whatever sort of presents that there could be under the tree.
