It’s either a nightmarish dictator from the past, or a nightmare from the dinner table of my youth.
What does Pot Pie mean to me? I have never once in my life thought about that, My memories of Pot Pie are those aluminum things they came in when you stuck them in the oven and would burn your fingers when you removed them.

When I was a child I got sick off a pot pie and never ate one again!
Pot pies mean lunch while home sick from school as a child.
Pot pie to me means sitting in my grandma’s kitchen watching her make an incredible chicken pot pie then salivating until dinner time as the wonderful baking smell filled her house.
A means to indulge after I have accomplished most of the stuff on my to-do list! 🙂
Pot pies mean vegetable pot pies since I stopped eating chicken pot pies long ago and smoking grass when I was a teenager..so there 🙂
Pot pie evokes a crisp fall day, steam rising from the delicious filling when the crust is first broken by fork, with wonderful aromas of savory meat and vegetables spreading throughout the dining room. Comfort in a pie shell!

Swanson frozen pot pies – ate a million of them growing up, along with Swanson TV dinners.

To me, Pot Pie means comfort. A cold, snowy, winter’s day and a hot chicken pot pie in the oven.
I just remember cooking the frozen ones in the foil bowl when I was a kid. I haven’t had one of those in 25 years.
Great food based on vegetables well wraped that put in oven to give warm during the cold days
Meat and vegetables covered in a crust. Some taste great and some do not.
Pot pies remind me of my college days, where we would eat our share of those cheap (50 cents), frozen Banquet pot pies. Good stuff!

When you say Pot Pie you have said it all,from sunday dinner on.
Mom putting in a couple frozen ones in the oven (this was before microwaves) and having them ready when my brother and I came in after playing outside in the winter.
I love a good homemade pot pie, haven’t had one in a while though. I don’t do the frozen ones for lunch at work because of time involved in baking them.
A complete meal in one. I eat them in a bowl with a spoon.

It reminds me of Sunday lunches when I was younger and we would eat with our extended family and friends. Mom made it from scratch and it was delicious. I make it myself now!

When I was a little girl, I HATED pot pies!!! They were the old kind that had to be cooked in the oven. Now, I think of the big ones with the flaky crust that you get in restaurants, and I LOVE them, especially in winter. My favorite is chicken or turkey, but I like other varieties, as well.
