I am most thankful this holiday for the two NPR News affiliates that serve my region, WAER and WRVO. Not only do they do a commendable job of covering local issues in this community, they serve as great examples for the broadcast and digital students who are training in this region. Keep up the terrific work!
Every Thanks giving I remember Thanksgiving in Viet Nam. The chow hall had been hit and partially destroyed by a rocket, I had been on the flight line working for 11 hours , from early in the morning. I got up to the chow hall about 3 p.m , starving . All they had were cheese burgers ….best damn cheeseburger ever…
I am thankful for AM talk radio and SW, which have kept me company, entertained and informed on many a lonely night, all around the world.
Leo Laporte’s “The Tech Guy” is my current favorite radio program… Nice to go to sleep to…
I am grateful for 6 months of baseball radio broadcast and the sports talk show about the sport itself. The other 6 months are full of late night AM DXing which I consider a snobby/sport in itself.
I am most thankful for nationally-syndicated radio talk show host Glenn Beck. He is willing to put principles ahead of political parties, which is very refreshing. I wish other radio and TV commentators were willing to hold the politicians that they agree with to the same standards to which they hold the politicians that they disagree with.
I am most thankful for our small local AM radio station. A great mix of news/weather/commentary/humor/music, they have it all. As far as a national host, I am thankful for Michael Savage telling it like it is. I am also thankful for C Crane supplying awesome radios and service!
Still gotta be Art Bell was it for him and Coast to Coast AM I don’t know if I ever would have been introduced to the world of AM radio and C Crane Company in general : )
Thanks for the chance I don’t know what I would pick but that would be a great problem to have
I am most thankful for the handful of international broadcasters who have not abandoned shortwave … like Romania, Ukraine, et al.
I am most thankful for BBC Radio 4 and Radio 4 Extra. Thanks to my CCrane Internet Radio and their mini FM transmitter I have them all over the house. If you really need to find out what is happening the BBC will be there.
I just cut the cord for television, so radio is more important now than ever for me. My favorite station is a local one, the local sports talk 680 The fan. I use it as white noise, sometimes listening, sometimes not. I have a portable radio in every room, which shouldn’t be necessary if they are in fact portables, but I am a radio collector and I like comparing and contrasting the radios. I have the GE Superadio I, the Superadio II, and the C Crane 2E. The Superardios are very strong performers, especially strong audio, but the C Crane is every bit as good. The C Crane is my wive’s favorite. She would tell you that WABE, the local NPR station is her favorite. We’re also thankful for BBC Radio 4, its programs and podcasts, which we stream by internet.
Rush Limbaugh, for all the times that I have been disheartened with all of the nonsense in our national capital! He is like a breath of fresh air in a sordid world.
I listen to kfi640 the John and Ken show they let me no whats really going on in southernCalifornia. ..
I’m thankful for KVIP Christian radio in Redding, CA. The station serves a large area in northern California. Many programs are educational, uplifting, and inspiring. When I listen each morning, I am reminded to focus on the unseen, spiritual dimension of life before God every day.
Favorite night time radio show Is Red Eye Radio with Eric Harley and Gary McNamara, especially when I can’t sleep. Pair them with my CCrane SoftSpeaker pillow speaker and I my sleepless nights are quite entertaining!
I truly am thankful for the night time radio show Coast2Coast and its host, George Nory. This is where I receive a lot of my news (learned about CCrane from Mr. Nory) and events, domestic and abroad. But I tune into AM stations all the time now, listening to talk shows and stations across the nation. It builds a bridge that allows me to become acquainted with other people within my good ole U.S. of A. Radio…yeah!
i stopped tv too and i love amateur radio. i like Roy Masters radio show bet you ain’t heard of him. also wbcq the planet.
chris markowski…the watchdog on wall street
We are thankful for the radio talk show with George Noory, Coast to Coast on AM Radio
Ian Punnett was one of the most interesting of the Coast to Coast Am hosts in recent memory. Besides his melodic voice that literally carried one into a conversation effortlessly, he possessed knowledge you know he had armored himself with before engaging in a verbal bout of high quality.
He never suffered fools on live radio, though he did grant them at least one attempt to regain their footing once an error was made. Ian spoke into the microphone as if it were your ear he was speaking into. I believe it was Sundays he most often had a standing platform. I would get excited on Sundays, anticipating his upcoming spot for what I knew would be an outstanding show most others would shy away from.
Ian is/was my all time radio personality. His high IQ never prevented him from bantering with any guest at any level, achieving an unprecedented disclosure of information. The guests were in awe of his extraction methods of new ideas and thoughts. They were compelled to tell the truth. They “wanted” to tell the truth, at last to Ian. He had an openness about him that was disarming in a good way!
Ian left the air plagued with crippling tinnitus. Those who revere him wish him safe journey! He was Talk Radio’s golden boy. I am so thankful for the time we had together. We miss you Ian! .
My all-time radio favorite was Paul Harvey’s segments. No one as yet, has matched his verve on the air.
My current radio favorite is hearing Coast To Coast, but many times I have to leave at night and don’t have the equipment needed to record the parts I miss. Maybe one day I can afford the CC Witness Plus to record for me.
My second favorite is hearing Jamie DuPree’s news brief segment that comes in the middle of Herman Cain’s radio show in Atlanta. Herman inherited the show from Neal Boortz when he decided to retire. I think it was time; he hadn’t said anything new in the previous 15 years. Now, that the emotionally grueling campaign is over, Jamie needs time to de-compress before going back on the air.
My third favorite in BBC World Service. They talk funny but, it’s good to hear how the rest of the world is doing.
Happy Thanksgiving to all; Merry Christmas; and Happy Holidays.
Some people make a big deal about someone wishing “Happy Holidays”, like it’s a disrespect to Christmas. Apparently, they don’t understand that it’s a reference to the extra long holiday season over the last three months of the year: from Halloween all the way to New Years, of which Christmas is just one.
As an avid RADIO listener, I am thankful for The Rush Limbaugh Show as it is the best source for news.
Above all, I am thankful to God, for my family, America, and Freedom.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
I’m thankful for radio, I’ve listened all my life. I mostly listen to local talk radio on WPRO or WBZ, but have found myself listening to the local NPR stations more often. I much rather listen to the radio more than watching TV.
I will nominate Flash Phipps on satellite radio on the 60s on6. He tells of his travels and the places he’s been.
I’m thankful for all my many blessings in my seventy- five + years and a great wife and family.
Always enjoy my sports stations out of Seattle on my CC Radio2. Hope we all have a safe and healthy holiday season.
Enjoy my CC Radio 2. Happy Thanksgiving!
I enjoy listening to Chris Plante on WMAL out of DC.I listen on my CC Radio EP. I enjoy my CC radio very much.
Thank you for making it possible that we the consumers still have a chance to buy exceptional CCrane electronics.
GOD bless America!
Lately I’ve been groovin’ to DJ Miss
Ash on KEXP Seattle
the greatest schollar of our constitution alive today, Mark Levin, energizes and inspires me every day by live broadcast on the CC WiFi radio and podcast by many other means.
I am grateful for being on the ‘other’ side of the mic for over 50 years. I was able to spend over 5 decades as a DJ, living out a childhood dream of being in the radio business. I started in 1962 and retired just this month. I am very grateful to all the station owners and program directors who allowed me to stay on the air as long as I did. But I am especially grateful to all the listeners who tuned in every morning and put up with my silly jokes and comments. Over the years I played hundreds of thousands of records and CDs from Glenn Miller to The Beatles. The list could go on and on.
I am also very grateful to C. Crane for the Witness Radio. I used it many years to record and archive my radio shows, so now I can reminisce and re-live some of the highlights of all those years.
I am still partial to AM radio and am grateful to all the AM station owners who keep this great radio tradition going. Thank you….it was a great ride!
Grateful for listening to Coast To Coast nightly since the early days of Art Bell, around 1995….still listening…..also, Listen to Michael Savage, before Coast to Coast AM….
I listen primarily to FM, public radio and find North Country Public Radio (NCPR) has the most diverse musical programs and best commentary in the Northern Vermont and New York..
I am very grateful for so many stations but my two biggies are Coast to Coast and The Blaze, two sources of very different information.
I love the Cartalk guys, Tom and Ray. Even though they retired, and one has gone to the great garage in the sky, they still make me laugh.
Art Bell opened up the heavens!
Coat to coast is my favorite
Our Salem station, AM1280 The Patriot is a haven for informative and interesting talk.
I’m thankful that radio is still alive and well. I’ve loved radio since I was just a kid. Some of my favorites through the years have been: Radio Theater of the Air, Focus on the Family, NPR, Ground Zero, and Coast to Coast. I keep a radio next to my bed that never gets turned off. Thank you.
I love radio, but especially enjoy our local Salem station AM1280 The Patriot which offers interesting and serious information and insight.
When we adopted 3 young kids from Russia some years ago, Coast to Coast radio and Art Bell were instrumental in helping them learn English. There were always interesting shows and we would record & play back during daylight hours for them. They not only learned English this way but also learned about many subjects they wouldn’t hear elsewhere.
Much better than watching mind-numbing tv shows.
We are thankful for Coast to Coast continuing in the Art Bell tradition with stories you won’t hear anywhere else. I am enjoying our new C Crane internet radio and we’re thankful for this great technology allowing us to listen to radio broadcasts world-wide. Thank you C Crane for sponsoring Art and Coast to Coast all these years and making all this possible.
KTLK in MPLS/ST.PAUL MN. Justice And Drew program
They are a conservative radio station but if you’re interested what is going on in our country-please listen to them.
They have people from both sides of politics who will tell you what is really happening, not just the news from television and newspapers.
You get the information from “the horses mouth ” so to speak.
Thankful for Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket in Dallas, TX. I especially love the morning show (Dunham & Miller Show with Gordon Keith aka The Musers. They have a unique blend of sports talk, humor, news and bits that help me wake up informed and start the day with a few good laughs.
I am grateful for Thom Hartmann and the fact that I can get the (not local) station on my CC Radio.
I listen to a variety of talk radio shows on WHAM and 1 of my favs is Coast to Coast w/George Nory which is where I 1st learned of your products-Thankful for that program! Each program offers informative and interesting information that we do not get in the “mainstream”.
I’m grateful for Rollye James a truly unique and talented radio veteran with an encyclopedic knowledge of all things radio. Since leaving terrestrial and satellite radio she is living in Arizona running two radio stations for her friend who passed away. She broadcasts via the internet every Friday but I’d love to see her return to the airwaves. And at the risk of sounding like a suck-up, she and Art Bell introduced me to CCrane and I have them to thank for my outstanding CCrane EP analog radio. It is outstanding and I love it!
I am thankful for The Doug Wright show on KSL and Wait Wait don’t Tell Me on NPR, KUER. I am looking forward to becoming familiar with SW.
My favorite radio show of all time has to be Coast to Coast with Art Bell. I particularly loved his interviews with Malachi Martin. To this day, if I hear the music from Cusco or the song Midnight in the Desert, I go back in time and am reminded of his excellence in broadcasting.
This Thanksgiving, I’m grateful Coast to Coast continues with George Noory. Long live Free Speech!
I purchased a c. Crane for my husband who listens to coast to coast radio with host George Nori while at work. I attempted to just buy a pocket radio from Amazon but he said no way it has to be a Crane. I know he’ll love it!
