Drinking Gold Cadillacs seems like a good way celebrate the holidays…
A gallon of milk and Christmas cookies in all shapes, sizes and flavors.
Mashed potatoes!
ham or lamb with my homemade sicilian lasagne
My family doesn’t do what would be considered a Christmas dinner, we put all the makings out on the counters and let whoever wants to make whatever they want whenever the want to do so. I suppose that it is different than most folks do on Christmas, but since our family is child centric and we feel that this is a day for the children to celebrate all of the years joys and fun times that it suits us to enjoy the day with them.
Mom always made the best vegi – platter… carrots, celery, mini-corns, green and black olives, cauliflower, broccoli, cherry tomatoes and don’t forget the Hidden Valley Ranch in the middle to accent the flavor!
tofu turkey 🙂
We love ambrosia.
Turkey and all the fixin’s
My wife’s spinach salad with homemade dressing that is my Mom’s recipe.
Definitely turkey with all the trimmings. Then top it off with pumpkin pie.
My Mom had an old fruit cake receipt that my family just loves [not a fruit cake to use as a door stop] and I only make it between Thanksgiving and New Year.
Christmas cookies & eggnog…with a little extra nog.
My ideal holiday feast is a Honey Baked ham with all the fixins’, followed up with apple pie ala mode. Of course, none of this would be complete without the presence of my 2 Grandsons. THAT is the “icing on the cake.”
My ideal holiday feast is the one my wife makes each year. It’s standing rib roast with baked vegetables, biscuits and tea (sweat iced tea, this is the South). We buy more ribs than we need because we are always eat a little more than a standard portion and we like to have leftovers.
My favorite spread would be a mish-mash of all cuisines- an extra cheese lasagna, Beef profiterole, Fajita platter with loads of beans and cheese and Baklava and christmas pudding as desserts to top it off! One can always wish 🙂
My favorite is a crown roast. Favorite side is cranberry apple pie.
My fave side dish to a holiday feast is a Caesar salad customized with really tart Granny smith apples and pineapples for the holiday cheer!
Egg plant parmesan! Absolutely perfect side dish to a holiday feast.
I am the regular host of our family christmas feasts. Over the years I have always had Biscuits and gravy as a side dish. Some might think it’s fit only for breakfast but trust me when everything else is rich and creamy….this dish is always a hit!
Favorite side dish is string beans sautéd in garlic oil and seasoned with sesame seeds! So delicious!
My family’s favorite side dish is potato salad that my Mom makes using her mother’s recipe.
My ideal feast would have barbecued ribs, kabobs, home baked pull-apart cheesy bread and loads of cookies, brownies and fudge!
a repeat of thanksgiving favorite side well seasoned green beans.
Favorite side dish is green beans with brown sugar glaze.
Chicken satays are my all time favorite side dish
A hot bowl of creamy tomato bisque is my favorite side dish to a holiday feast
Fried oysters
I like the cranberry sauce, eggnog and cookies!
besr radios around
roasted goose dinner with all the trimmings
My favorite Christmas dinner, although we haven’t done this for several years, is to get carry-out from a Chinese restaurant.
Roast beef with Yorkshire Pudding or a braised shoulder of lamb with roasted root vegetables.
It’s either burritos after midnight Mass or tamales!!!
Has to be fresh kielbasa
the breakfast…….eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy,..coffeecake and lots of coffee…
Turkey neck stew
My idea Holiday feast would be to go to Who-ville and have some roast beast with a side of Who-hash.
Pineapple casserole with cheese and Ritz Cracker topping….sounds weird and that it wouldn’t taste good but it id DELICIOUS!
My favorites weren’t the main dish at all. They were mandarin-orange salad and a strawberry jello salad with layers of cranberries and sour cream. I should look up how to make these myself!
