Christmas music
church and music
I’m not sure if it’s because as a child I watched Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer every year faithfully, but when it is on the TV it truly feels like Christmas to me.
In a word, it’s food. Once a year for Christmas my wife makes a top rib roast. It’s the best meal of the year.
Christmas Music — I love the old Christmas carols. That’s what puts the spirit into me!
Christmas is to celebrate the birth of Christ, God in the flesh who came to break the curse upon mankind from the time of Adam and Eve’s sin. All the lights at Christmas are joyful reminders of the Light of the World.
When I see Linus walk up to the stage on “A Charlie Brown Christmas” and so eloquently state, “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a savior, which is Christ the Lord,” I am once again reminded what Christmas is all about. That truly brings me into the Christmas spirit.
Christmas music does it for me…
Putting up the tree the day after Thanksgiving Day was a big deal in our family.
And, then putting up the outdoor lights the following day, you might say that was the beginning of our Christmas joy.
Family means Christmas. Christmas carols get me in the spirit.
What is the one thing that means Christmas or Holidays to you? What puts you in the holiday spirit?
Family, fun and laughter is what Christmas means to me. Nothing gets me into the Christmas spirit quite like loved ones to share the holidays with.
In one word “family”
Light its always the light, once they go up the Christmas songs enter my head and don’t leave until new years : )
Seeing great store window displays and street decorations.
The one thing that means Christmas to me is the memory of my Father who was born on December 24th and the sight of either of my Grandsons puts me in the holiday spirit.
Making cookies with my wife means Christmas the Christmas season is here. Once the box with all the Santas(s) my Dad carved is brought down from the attic is the official decoration in my adult life.
Christmas & Christmas Spirit to me is all about kids. I miss those Christmases at my grandparents when I was a kid – and now that I’m a grandparent, I hope to someday create that feeling for my grandchildren.
Small town Christmas atmosphere decorations and parade.
Family
For me it is the lights and the holy music of the season that gets me in the spirit and that I always hate to put away at the end.
Well, the Holiday Food is important, but the MUSIC is a main highlight… we listen, we sing-a-long… and after the big meal, we pull out the guitars and the whole family joins in! It’s a great time to share our traditional carols… being Polish, we sing the favorite “kolendy” but married to a Frenchman, we can’t leave out the Divine Infant… and other favorites… and of course… since our boys were born in Peru, we have to include Feliz Navidad! It’s a whirlwind trip around the world in song ! And that’s what the Holiday Spirit is all about at our house! Merry Christmas!
Setting up our Christmas tree is the one thing that means it is Christmas time.
Listening to Christmas music on my favorite CC radio always puts me in the holiday spirit!
I am a retired navy Vietnam vet and I love old school Carrolling, the old store front displays of mechanical figures and Christmas Lights. This and the great feeling of giving and seeing joy in the eyes of receivers. This is what Holidays mean to me.
I seriously get in the Christmas mood after the local symphony’s Christmas concert — which is this weekend!
Traditional Christmas music is #1 in getting me in the holiday spirit. Christmas and other holidays always means being with family and friends.
The garden is just about finished and the weather is getting cold and I want to “cook”. It’s time for turkey and cookies and fruit cake, always has to be fruit cake. My Mom’s receipt and most of the family love it. I even do a gluten free fruit cake. That’s when the holidays stare.
