Halloween because I can be who I really want to be!
No question…Thanksgiving. Either here in the States or in Canada. I love the fact that there’s so little commercialization. It’s all about family and friends.
I have two,Thanksgiving and Independence Day because they are truly American holidays >
Easter is my favorite because it represents a new and fresh start
Halloween like the costumes and decorations
I love Christmas because of the happiness it brings to everyone.
Just a comment? Will this do? Have a nice day!
Christmas. Because in the busy world it’s the one time when everybody tries to get together and has heads full of fond memories.
Holiday, my favorite is “Any Holiday” I have never experienced a Holiday that I did not like ! !
Christmas, because of being with your family
I truly enjoy Thanksgiving. We always have a large family gathering, and I like the togetherness that the harvest brings.
Christmas – the reason for the season. It brings back many childhood memories.
thanksgiving…. all inclusive
Christmas. The celebration of the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ. Also the time with family and friends.
Thanksgiving – family gathering, no gifts/commercial aspect, nice historic reason, … overall a very nice holiday.
I enjoy the Christmas holiday because everything is transformed with lights and decorations.
Independence Day !
It was the creation of a new type of government.
New Years Day
It is a time for a new beginning.
My favorite holiday is Talk Like A Pirate Day. No other holidays AAAARRRRR quite as joyous.
I’d say Thanksgiving, because of the company and because I get to eat food that I don’t eat very often.
My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. The reason is that it is the beginning of the holiday season. Everyone gets together and has a lovely meal. Then the decorations start going up. Thanksgiving signals the beginning of lights, music, shopping, and generally thinking about others rather than ourselves. This beauty lasts right up to Christmas. It’s all downhill after that.
I was going to say Christmas but after starting my new hobby in metal detecting, I would say the day after July 4th when I go and find all the things people left at the beach. It’s like Christmas in July! 🙂
Tom
Actually, it’s Thanksgiving. Our family gets together for that one. It’s a good time.
I love the Fourth of July. In addition to our country’s birthday, it’s also at the peak of summertime.
Thanksgiving,no commercialism/materialism to it at all….
Christmas. Not only is it Christ’s birthday it is so much fun to watch the grand kids and their presants.
I like Groundhog Day. No politics, no religion, just a fun day about the weather. And the movie is one of my favorites!
Christmas. Family reunion.
This year I’m going to have to say Fall Equinox… since as I look around my yard, I’ve still got flowers in bloom and harvested a few food plants as well! 2013 has been a crazy year for all of us weather wise and I’m hoping it wasn’t too bad where ever you live. I had unpredictable spurts of cold nights and harsh winds that kept me sheltering or replanting veggies. It seemed endless and I thank Mother Nature for providing some peaceful moments during it all.
I live in NE Washington state and have a small cheap greenhouse almost finished (that’s made with 3 curved cattle panel grids and visqueen….half of a Quonset hut shape, attached to a garage wall). Next year will be great. Already looking forward to Spring Equinox. LOL!
Thanks giving. I get 4 days off…! Woo hoo!
St. Patrick’s day! Gives all my college buds a great reason to hang out
The best holiday of all is the one that marks the entire holiday season: Christmas. For me it translates to fun time with all my family.
This is a hard one. I LOVE all holidays but I guess I would have to say Christmas. It is so much more than just one day. It is the one time each year that all 7 brothers and sisters get together and have a sit down 5 course meal with the children serving and cleaning up afterwards!
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because I love getting together with family and having a nice meal.
Live every day as if it’s a holiday and you’ll never be disappointed.
Thanksgiving, because family can get together without the pressure and expense of gift giving like Christmas.
Christmas – why?
Two reasons – Emma and Nicholas – fabulous Grandchildren.
Nothing beats Christmas. The music…the family…the downtime is what makes it.
My dog’s birthday.
I would like to make a pilgrimage to Santuario de Chimayo.
My favorite would have to be New Years Day since that means that all of the nonsense with Christmas and Thanksgiving are over with and I can look forward to spring and new life, hopefully mine as well!
Christmas. When I feel like a kid again.
thanksgiving. by far. its the least commercialized. non religious. stands for thankfulness and grattitude. it dosnt have a cartoon character portraying a lie attached to it.
I’ll pick Christmas.
Thanksgiving, to me it is more about family and is devoid of the commercialism, plus I love the turkey and rest of the meal, and watching the football.
4th of July! And I love to go check out the fireworks and the regatta in the downtown.
My favorite is Memorial day holiday. At my household it stands for the beginning of summers and we make sure to hit the beach.
I love Christmas because around that time of the year everything is so festive….fairy lights all around. Families meeting up and exchanging gifts. Oh I love it!
My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. No pressure to shop or give a great gift. Just show up and eat!
Christmas. All the children’s excitement and anticipation. The family parties. The Christmas Eve rituals.
