Lots of food, water and stuff to drink, and a weather radio.
Besides an emergency radio (solar powered and crank), an overlooked necessity is CASH, lots of it … Maybe $200.
Then, extra prescription pills.
My kit includes water, batteries, flashlights, and hand-cranked radios.
Storable food and a gravity fed water filter system.
The thing I will always have at the ready is my Power Vivid Pocket Flashlight – what an amazing product.
My CCSolar Observer will be one of items.
Food is the big thing to get and store..next is items you really need…on that list would be CC radio.
After 25+ years of dealing with Gulf hurricanes in Houston, I actually enjoy Cleveland snowstorms. My emergency kit still has hand-crank radios, lights and cellphone chargers; plenty of batteries and the biggest Swiss army knife I could find. Same first aid kit with some hand warmers and blankets. Plenty of water, canned food, propane and matches.
…may I try this one more time
If there were only 3 items allowed in an emergency kit, I believe the essentials should be:
1. a high quality, self-powered radio receiver. Essential for getting life-saving information
2. a hand-held water treatment kit
3. 2-days supply of meals ready-to-eat
Pez, cherry flavored Pez 🙂
An emergency radio for sure, water purifier, high quality flashlights and storable food at the very least.
That is an easy one. An emergency radio from CCrane.
Tom
Lots of cash and a bottle of Pussers rum.
bottled water, extra fuel for lamps and stove, plywood to board up windows if needed.
nice radio i have two of them, great sound and reception.
My wife’s credit card!
No hurricanes here, but for winter storms, a battery radio and an alternate heat source.
Lots of us on the same page … a good radio, batteries, LED lanterns, cash … and a full tank of gas to bug out with!
Lots of useful stuff… oh and some chocolate!
Candles and cash to get out of Dodge to where they have power for air conditioning.
Some of the same items we take camping: crank flashlight/radio combo, batteries, regular flashlights, a good supply of ready-to-eat food, radio with weather alert capabilities, water treatment kit, first aid kit, cell phone w/charger, pocket knife, vitamins & supplements, gasoline, butane, lantern(s), suitable clothing, everything necessary for our furry family.
I would put a CC emergency radio, batteries, flashlights, water and food in my emergency kit
I would put in my emergency kit water, my ccrane radio, plenty double A batteries, phone number list (on paper) and my emergency plant (writting).
Havn’t given it much thought to be honest, maybe I should though. I see that the Solar Observer is on sale, maybe I’ll start with that.
I don’t overly panic but a AM-FM radio capable of picking up NOAA weather, water, some canned food, kerosene heater, LED lights, batteries, and some water.
A generator and about 5-gallons of gasoline w/ fuel stabilizer.
While hurricanes are not a factor here in Montana, severe winter weather is along with earthquakes. We make sure we have at least a weeks supply of food, water, backup power, fuel, and 2 – 3 sources of heat. Also 30 days supply of prescription meds. Also have several radios with batteries both transmitter and receivers. We also have a kit for the vehicles. In short, I think we’re prepared for most situations.
My emergency kit is as complete as I need, for now. I just have to make sure I hear the warnings in time to not get caught-up somewhere else.
Batteries, flashlights, lanterns, weather alert radio, AM/FM/SW radio, food, water, blankets, etc. We have a large family and basically are prepared to camp at home for a week in the event of a major winter storm.
Other than my new CC Pocket Radio, my emergency kit contains all the basics as well as enough food and water for 2 weeks, extra flashlights, rechargeable batteries, 1st aid supplies, jumper cables, 12 volt marine battery for recharging cell phones & batteries via an ac/dc converter. For entertainment I have playing cards, board games, art supplies, and some small musical instruments (harmonica, penny whistle) with instruction books,
Food, phone, first aid kit and a C.Crane radio.
Plenty of water, dried fruits and canned goods.
None in my kit, I’m not in hurricane country
Hi. How do I claim my new CC pocket radio? Thank you
